Cloud is a critical foundation for driving digital transformation and creating new digital services. Most businesses inherently understand that cloud provides the necessary levels of flexibility, efficiency, scalability and security for any successful transformation project — yet the vast majority of these projects fail, most often due to cloud implementation complexity, cloud-related costs and a lack of internal skills. As a result, many organizations are stuck with cloud resources that are expensive, inefficient and inadequate for achieving their strategic goals, hampering growth and competitiveness.

On top of that, these companies can’t take advantage of the latest technology trends that are powered by data and cloud. This is particularly true of today’s most-talked-about technology, Generative AI, which requires massive, scalable cloud and storage commitments to run Large Language Models to quickly create text, code and other assets that are indistinguishable from human-generated ones.

Cloud complexity is not a new challenge — we’ve been collaborating with enterprises for years on cloud, watching this pain build to its present state where it’s too acute to ignore. In fact, our clients’ increased reliance on cloud has paralleled our own journey during the last several years. Persistent has greatly expanded its offerings to tackle clients’ cloud complexity through a combination of organic investments, targeted acquisitions and partnerships with hyperscalers, making us the preferred cloud ecosystem partner of choice across industries.

Gartner

Since November 2020, Persistent has made six cloud-related acquisitions (MediaAgility, Data Glove, Shree Partners, SCI Fusion, Sureline and CAPIOT), with the goal to enable greater cloud flexibility and adaptability in clients’ multi-cloud environments. These acquisitions gave us a strong base to launch focused business units and expanded sales teams for all our hyperscaler partners — AWS, Google, IBM, Microsoft and Salesforce. As more enterprises work on multi-cloud platforms from several or all hyperscalers, our partnerships with these industry heavyweights have never been stronger, as we’re collaborating with them on new or enhanced cloud offerings.

Our cumulative cloud investments have resulted in 13 cloud delivery centers to serve our worldwide client base. Concurrently, we’ve made strategic efforts to train and upskill our staff on the leading cloud platforms, increasing cloud certifications from about 1,000 in 2021 to more than 6,500 this year, and that number increases every month. We have reached a point in the evolution and enhancement of our cloud skills that we’re able to bring high-level expertise to any enterprise’s cloud environment, regardless of platform, workload or industry requirements.

With optimal skills and delivery capabilities in place, we developed a strategy to accelerate business value by bringing a practitioner-led approach to clients’ cloud engagements, one that places practitioners throughout the sales and delivery process to ensure long-term accountability and client satisfaction. This strategy is backed by our extensive IP, both our own internal frameworks and accelerators such as the Persistent Cloud Automation Stack (PiCAS) and those we co-develop with hyperscaler and start-up partners. Leading with an IP factory approach allows us to create unique roadmaps that guide clients through their cloud-based transformation initiatives with speed and efficiency.

Our technical cloud expertise is equally matched by our focus on generating positive business outcomes for clients. We bring specialized vertical expertise and insights to enterprise engagements, with insight into regulatory, security and privacy concerns for specific industries. This combined technical and business expertise allows us to quickly adapt to our clients’ evolving business challenges and collaborate on cloud-based solutions, engendering high degrees of trust from our clients.

Industry observers and analysts are acknowledging our advancements in tackling cloud complexity and positioning clients for future growth. Persistent has recently been recognized in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Public Cloud IT Transformation Services for our Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. Last year, we were positioned as a Niche Player.

We believe the recognition from Gartner demonstrates that when our clients succeed in cloud, so do we. It validates our practitioner-lead and personalized approach, strategy and investments, placing us at the forefront of the public cloud services market and on-par with much larger companies. It also instills us with the confidence to double-down on our approach and to continue making investments to bring relief to clients struggling with cloud complexity and addressing their future requirements.
