The client is the world’s second-largest clinical research organization (CRO) conducting clinical trials on behalf of its pharmaceutical customers. The company provides biopharmaceutical services and has helped develop approximately 95% of the 200 topselling biopharmaceuticals available in the market. The company works in close unison with the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry to design and deliver clinical trials while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The Challenge
The client wanted to formulate an integration architecture blueprint for designing and implementing an integration platform that seamlessly connects multiple entities and systems across the enterprise. They wanted to expose consumer API as a service to external and internal partners through an API management layer. They needed support for reference data management to promote automated transformation lookups.
This required them to set up an automation framework to reduce operational overheads post-production. They were looking for a partner who would help them migrate their existing integration platform to an alternative product stack.
The Solution
We studied the existing TIBCO implementation code and prepared technical design documents to build the services in MuleSoft, with improved architecture and design.
With a constant focus on incorporating improved architecture and design, Persistent designed and developed 150+ services integrating 10+ applications and a messaging solution leveraging the Kafka streams.
Persistent also ensured performance improvements by redesigning the legacy interfaces in the new product stack and achieved end-to-end integration for the client and its partners in the integration ecosystem.
The Outcome
The client benefitted from a state-of-the-art architecture implementation with extensive operational intelligence. By enabling the client to become an API-enabled enterprise, we ensured the availability of on-demand data and functionalities. API-led connectivity and data integration resulted in reduced risk. The client improved overall turnaround time and reduced implementation costs significantly.
