Overview
Gauge is a performance benchmarking tool built for characterizing the performance of various blockchain platforms. Currently supported platforms are Hyperledger Fabric, Quorum and Corda. Gauge subjects the blockchain network to a pre-defined load, monitors the resource consumption and computes the performance metrics. It is highly extensible wherein you can plug in your own blockchain by implementing predefined interfaces.
Persistent Offering
The benchmarking tool allows for running different workloads and measures the resulting transaction throughput and latencies. Built-in workloads like null, read, write and mix workloads can be built. Controlled workload experiments can also be run after tuning different blockchain network, hardware, software and policy parameters to arrive at an optimal setting.It enables to focus on detailed aspects of the blockchain platform, chaincode design and data used by the chaincodes.It also allows to study the performance and identify bottlenecks when deployments sizes increase over time.
