Founded in 1859, the client is a US-based, multinational banking solutions and retail technology company specializing in self-service transaction systems, physical security products, point-of-sale terminals, and software solutions for retail and commercial financial markets.
The Challenge
The client had invested heavily in legacy retail software. As a result, they were looking for support to convert the same into a store-as-service model based on reusable APIs. The client sought to connect multiple applications and systems by leveraging reusable APIs to save time, enhance functionality, and track information easily.
The client needed to ensure a hassle-free offline store experience during connectivity failure. They wished to confirm that the retailers could execute minimal operations to run their stores in the event of an outage. Moreover, they wanted to enable retailers to leverage partner marketing services.
The Solution
As a trusted partner, Persistent built a virtual multitenant API layer to expose common processes and system APIs to all the consumers, thus making customer onboarding and connection with multiple single-tenant systems seamless.
To ensure business connectivity in the event of disconnection, Persistent built offline integration based on RabitMQ at the POC site. RabitMQ was used to store all events that were processed when connectivity was restored. We also provided additional integration capability so that retailers could easily connect with the marketing services of their choice.
The Outcome
The client ensured centralized API management, API security, and governance with store-as-aservice based on a common multitenant API network. Offline store availability led to a 60% increase in sales conversion and higher customer satisfaction. The client also recorded an 80% reduction in professional services expenses, which translated into direct benefits for both retailers and enterprise clients. Finally, the client could deliver an unmatched customer experience with integrated marketing services.
