Persistent’s COVID-19 relief efforts have been across India, the United States and Canada, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Israel.

In India we worked in the four states we have a presence in – Maharashtra, Karnataka, Hyderabad and Goa. We were able to provide food kits to almost 12,000 families and 30,000 individuals with some of the most challenging economic needs, working through 17 NGOs and various government departments.

Other relief efforts included:

• Over 6,000 PPE kits for doctors in hospitals and blood banks.
• 2,000 PPE kits for waste pickers.
• A ventilator, thermometers, COVID testing kits and disinfection chambers for a public hospital and the police.
• A twice daily disinfection program to protect a population of 450,000.

Americares is providing critically needed protective gear, training and emotional support for health workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The health-focused relief and development organization is responding to the pandemic in 14 countries, and in the U.S. alone, Americares has delivered more than 120 tons of protective supplies, including 2.3 million masks to health facilities in 49 states, the District of Columbia and three U.S.

The Ottawa Food Bank provides fresh and non-perishable food, as well as supplies such as diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to its network of over 100 emergency food programs across the city.

From a registered dietician on staff to our own farm where we grew over 60 tons of our own food, these donations go directly to the communities we serve.”

At Persistent Malaysia was allocated USD25,000 as donation to support Malaysia’s COVID-19 relief efforts. 2 organizations in Malaysia were identified to donate to, which are Mercy (Medical Relief Society Malaysia) and NADMA (The National Disaster Management Agency). The handover ceremony to NADMA was held on 1st July 2020 at Office of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) at Putrajaya. The cheque was received by Yb Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Bin Md Yusof, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (special tasks).

CANIETI is a non-profit organization that seeks to defend the interests of member companies, as well as their development in Mexico; CANIETI Chapter West has been a key actor in the current health contingency, mainly seeking the well-being and health of the collaborators of the member companies, through collaborative work with the authorities of the 3 levels of government, seeking to help preserve the jobs of the industry and its sustainability.

The Food Bank of Guadalajara is a non-profit organization, established in 1991 and whose mission is “To generate access to decent food for people in vulnerable situations in our community.
